Date Player
4/16/2018 C.J. Anderson, Den, RB
A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that running back C.J. Anderson has been released by the Denver Broncos.

Analysis: The move clears a combined $9 million off the books over the next two seasons for Denver and opens the way for Devontae Booker, DeAngelo Henderson or a pick in the upcoming draft to take over as the Broncos' featured back.
4/16/2018 Josh Gordon, Cle, WR
Gordon will make $790,000 next season after signing with the Browns as an exclusive rights free agent.

Analysis: Gordon returned to the Browns and played five games last season following an NFL suspension and a lengthy rehab stint. He led the league with 1,646 yards receiving in 2012 and was an All-Pro in 2013, but he's played just 10 games over the past four seasons. After being re-instated last season, Gordon caught 18 passes for 335 yards and one touchdown.
4/16/2018 James Harrison, NE, LB
Harrison announced on Instagram early Monday that he is stepping away from the game following a 15-year career. The five-time Pro Bowler and 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year who turns 40 next month, Harrison posted a collage of pictures of his two sons and noted he's "missed way too much for way too long ... and I'm done."

Analysis: Harrison played nearly his entire career with the Steelers and the 84.5 sacks he collected while wearing black-and-gold are a franchise record. He spent the 2013 season in Cincinnati and signed with New England late last season. This is the second time Harrison has called it quits. He retired briefly in September 2014 only to be lured back to the Steelers. He remained productive into his late 30s, registering at least five sacks from 2014-16.
4/9/2018 Kony Ealy, Dal, DE
The Cowboys have signed Ealy to a one-year deal, their latest attempt to add depth to the defensive line through bargains in free agency. Ealy signed Monday after spending last season with the New York Jets. He was drafted in the second round by Carolina in 2014 and spent three years with the Panthers.

Analysis: The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Ealy had one sack with the Jets to give him 15 in his four-year career. He had five sacks in each of his last two seasons with Carolina.
4/9/2018 Matt Cassel, Det, QB
The Detroit Lions signed Cassel on Monday.

Analysis: Cassel played sparingly the past two seasons in Tennessee. The 13-year veteran has also played for Dallas, Buffalo, Minnesota, Kansas City and New England. He started 15 games in 2008 with the Patriots when Lions GM Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia also worked for the franchise. Cassel has started 81 games in his career, completing 59 percent of his passes for 17,449 yards with 104 touchdowns and 81 interceptions. He will compete to be Matthew Stafford's backup.
4/7/2018 Thomas Davis, Car, LB
Davis said he has been suspended by the NFL and will miss the first four games of next season after testing positive for a banned substance. Davis posted a video on his Twitter account on Friday saying that he tested positive for an estrogen blocker.

Analysis: Davis was Carolina's first-round draft pick in 2005 and has spent his entire career with the Panthers. He's seventh in team history with 13 career interceptions and eighth with 28 sacks. Davis said earlier this offseason that the 2018 season would be his last in the NFL. But he left open the possibility of playing beyond 2018 on Friday, saying "who knows, maybe this isn't my last year."
