Maeda struck out one, ending the game with a 4.62 ERA and 1.19 WHIP on the season.|
|June 18 8:08 PM PT9:08 PM MT10:08 PM CT11:08 PM ET23:08 ET3:08 GMT11:08 8:08 PM MST10:08 PM EST10:38 PM VEN7:08 UAE (+1)10:08 PM CT-Kenta Maeda improved to 5-3, allowing one run on three hits and one walk in 5.0 innings, as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cincinnati Reds 8-7 on Sunday. Maeda struck out five, ending the game with a 4.70 ERA and 1.21 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Now a spot starter, Maeda did pitch effectively in his first start in two weeks. It's unclear if Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will stick with a six-man rotation for the time being, and the Japanese veteran would likely be the odd man out if he decides not to.

|June 5 9:10 AM PT10:10 AM MT11:10 AM CT12:10 PM ET12:10 ET16:10 GMT0:10 9:10 AM MST11:10 AM EST11:40 AM VEN20:10 UAE11:10 AM CT-Kenta Maeda fell to 4-3, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks in 4.0 innings, as the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 on Sunday. Maeda struck out seven, ending the game with a 5.16 ERA and 1.28 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Making his third start since returning from the disabled list, Maeda was effective but inefficient with his pitches and gave way after four innings having thrown 92 pitches. He has yet to work past the fifth since coming back from the DL on May 25.
|May 31 9:30 AM PT10:30 AM MT11:30 AM CT12:30 PM ET12:30 ET16:30 GMT0:30 9:30 AM MST11:30 AM EST12:00 PM VEN20:30 UAE11:30 AM CT-Kenta Maeda allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in 4.0 innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 9-4 on Tuesday. Maeda struck out two, ending the game with a 5.21 ERA and 1.28 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Maeda spotted the Cardinals three first-inning runs for the second straight start, but once again held them scoreless after that to give the Dodgers a chance to come back. He's 3-0 in his last five starts - all Dodger wins.
|May 26 6:29 AM PT7:29 AM MT8:29 AM CT9:29 AM ET9:29 ET13:29 GMT21:29 6:29 AM MST8:29 AM EST8:59 AM VEN17:29 UAE8:29 AM CT-Kenta Maeda improved to 4-2, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks in 5.0 innings, as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 7-3 on Thursday. Analysis: Maeda is 3-0 with a 2.84 ERA in his last four starts after posting an 8.05 ERA through his first four outings.
|May 11 3:37 PM PT4:37 PM MT5:37 PM CT6:37 PM ET18:37 ET22:37 GMT6:37 3:37 PM MST5:37 PM EST6:07 PM VEN2:37 UAE (+1)5:37 PM CT-Maeda (hamstring) is slated to come off the DL on Thursday and start against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Maeda was coming off his best start of the season, coming within two outs of a complete game against the Pirates on May 10 before landing on the DL the next day. After posting an 8.05 ERA in his first four outings, he has a 2.21 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with 21 strikeouts to just four walks over 20 1/3 innings in his last three.
|May 11 8:32 AM PT9:32 AM MT10:32 AM CT11:32 AM ET11:32 ET15:32 GMT23:32 8:32 AM MST10:32 AM EST11:02 AM VEN19:32 UAE10:32 AM CT-Kenta Maeda improved to 3-2, allowing two runs on five hits in 8.1 innings, as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 on Wednesday. Maeda struck out five, ending the game with a 5.03 ERA and 1.17 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Maeda didn't go past five innings in five of his first six starts, but this is the type of performance the Dodgers are hoping to see more of.
|May 6 8:39 AM PT9:39 AM MT10:39 AM CT11:39 AM ET11:39 ET15:39 GMT23:39 8:39 AM MST10:39 AM EST11:09 AM VEN19:39 UAE10:39 AM CT-Kenta Maeda allowed two runs - one earned - on three hits and three walks in 5.0 innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 8-2 on Friday. Maeda struck out eight, ending the game with a 5.81 ERA and 1.32 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: After posting a wretched 8.05 ERA over his first four starts, Maeda has now turned in two straight strong outings. He also fanned eight while holding the Phillies to two runs over seven innings last week. Though still somewhat of a risky option, the Japanese righty's arrow is pointing up heading into Wednesday's home start against Pittsburgh.
|Apr. 29 8:40 AM PT9:40 AM MT10:40 AM CT11:40 AM ET11:40 ET15:40 GMT23:40 8:40 AM MST10:40 AM EST11:10 AM VEN19:40 UAE10:40 AM CT-Maeda improved to 2-2, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in 7.0 innings, as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 on Friday. Maeda struck out eight, ending the game with a 6.58 ERA and 1.35 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: "It was great to see Kenta throw the way he did tonight," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "He had clarity and he threw with conviction. He kept the ball down and he threw it tight to left-handers. He and Honey (Rick Honeycutt) had an excellent game plan going in and he executed it."
|Apr. 23 11:21 AM PT12:21 PM MT1:21 PM CT2:21 PM ET14:21 ET18:21 GMT2:21 11:21 AM MST1:21 PM EST1:51 PM VEN22:21 UAE1:21 PM CT-Maeda had another ineffective start Saturday at Arizona, where the struggling righty served up four homers and was tagged for six runs and nine hits over five innings in the Dodgers' 11-5 loss.
Analysis: Maeda has now surrendered 17 runs and allowed a troubling seven homers in 19 innings this season. It appears his rotation spot is safe for now, though he's hands-off from a fantasy standpoint at the moment.
|Apr. 16 10:07 AM PT11:07 AM MT12:07 PM CT1:07 PM ET13:07 ET17:07 GMT1:07 10:07 AM MST12:07 PM EST12:37 PM VEN21:07 UAE12:07 PM CT-Maeda was pulled after four innings in Saturday's start against Arizona after permitting four runs on five hits.
Analysis: The Japanese veteran did record five strikeouts and now has 14 in 14 innings this season, though he's been otherwise ineffective. Maeda owns a 7.07 ERA through three starts and hasn't pitched more than five innings in any of them. Considering the Dodgers' depth, his hold on a rotation spot may be a bit flimsy right now.
|Apr. 5 9:43 AM PT10:43 AM MT11:43 AM CT12:43 PM ET12:43 ET16:43 GMT0:43 9:43 AM MST11:43 AM EST12:13 PM VEN20:43 UAE11:43 AM CT-Maeda pitched five innings in his season debut Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in a 4-0 loss to the Padres. He struck out four.
Analysis: ''I was a little bit too excited, being the season opener,'' Maeda said through a translator. He's next scheduled to pitch Sunday at Coors Field, a place where he's gone 2-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 17 innings.
