Miller blanks Stars, Ducks' run hits 4

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Ryan Miller couldn't help but crack a smile when remembering the mess the Anaheim Ducks found themselves in.

After two Ducks players put the puck over the glass on back-to-back plays while already on the penalty kill in the third period, Miller just dug in and helped drag Anaheim to its longest winning streak of the season.

Miller stopped 41 shots for his 42nd career shutout as the Ducks beat the Dallas Stars 2-0 Wednesday night for their fourth straight win.

Knights pull away to down Flames 7-3

LAS VEGAS (AP) Another game, another record for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Alex Tuch scored the tiebreaking goal in the second period and the Vegas Golden Knights pulled away for a 7-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night.

Habs G Price evaluated for head injury

BROSSARD, Quebec (AP) Montreal goalie Carey Price missed practice Wednesday as the Canadiens' medical staff checked him out a day after he was struck on the mask by a shot in Philadelphia.

Coach Claude Julien said Price didn't suffer a concussion, but more would be known about his condition after tests are taken.

Kings send Kuemper to Coyotes for Rieder

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Coyotes acquired goalie Darcy Kuemper from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday for forward Tobias Rieder and goalie Scott Wedgewood.

The 27-year-old Kuemper was 10-1-3 with a 2.10 goals-against average in 19 games for the Kings this season. He's 51-35-17 with a 2.52 GAA in 104 career games with Minnesota and Los Angeles.

Blackhawks edge Sens in 7-round shootout

CHICAGO (AP) Nick Schmaltz and the Chicago Blackhawks weren't looking for anything fancy, and the direct approach eventually got them a much-needed win.

Schmaltz scored the deciding goal in the seventh round of the shootout to lift Chicago over the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Wednesday night, just the Blackhawks' second victory in 11 games.

Sabres F Kane expects to be traded

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Sabres forward Evander Kane doesn't need a fortune teller to understand he's down to his final days in Buffalo when acknowledging he expects to be dealt before the NHL's trading deadline on Monday.

"Yeah, if that's the answer you guys are waiting for," Kane told reporters following practice Wednesday. "I'm not going to get into what's been talked about or what hasn't been talked about, but I think you guys are all pretty smart hockey people."

Rangers G Georgiev to debut against Habs

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) Alexandar Georgiev is set to make his NHL debut for the New York Rangers when they visit the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old Russian was 12-11-2 with a 2.97 goals-against average and .908 save-percentage in 31 games with Hartford of the AHL before being called up by the Rangers on Feb. 10.

Canadiens trade D Jerabek to Capitals

MONTREAL (AP) The Montreal Canadiens traded defenseman Jakub Jerabek to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

The 26-year-old Jerabek, from the Czech Republic, had a goal and three assists in 25 games this season with Montreal. He also had a goal and 10 assists in 17 games in the AHL for the Laval Rockets.
